Simplified procedures: Foreigners can pay online the tax for the temporary residence permit in Romania, by means of the application ghiseul.ro
Foreign citizens from outside the EU applying for temporary residence permits in Romania can pay online by credit card, the tax for the document by means of the electronic payment platform, ghiseul.ro.
Thus, within the application ghiseul.ro a new general category is configured at this moment, that is, the subdivision – Temporary residence permit tax – and, in the near future, other documents issued for foreign citizens will be also inserted.
After selecting the category, foreigners will introduce identification details, respectively either the personal identification number or the passport series and number, the full name, home address and an e-mail where they will receive the payment confirmation. The application also automatically generates the IBAN and the equivalent of 252 lei for the temporary residence permit.
 Proof of payment is received by e-mail within minutes after the payment and is part of the series of documents necessary for obtaining the temporary residence permit.

This new facility offered to foreigners is an alternative way to of payment and was made possible due to the enlistment of the National Printing House in the National Electronic System for Card Payment (SNEP) through the electronic payment platform, starting with December 5th of the current year.
