Yosiuf is the first refugee child born today of a family of individuals relocated at the Asylum Centre Galati
This morning, November 29 current year, the number of people in the Center of Procedures and Accommodation for Asylum Seekers Galati increased by one. A Syrian woman gave birth at the Galati County Hospitalto to a healthy baby boy weighing 3 kilos.
Little Yosiuf is the third child of a Syrian family transferred from Greece to Romania through the EU resettlement program.
Parents, originary from Syria are in our country since October, time during which they followed the procedures for obtaining a form of international protection, their requests being solved by granting them the refugee status.
After the necessary hospitalization days, Yosiuf and his mother will return to the center, where they are expected by the father and the two brothers. In the next period the policemen will register the newborn as the youngest applicant for asylum in Romania.
The event created joy amongst people accommodated and the staff of the Centre who are eager to know the youngest tenant.
The Regional Center of Procedures and Accommodation for Asylum Seekers Galati has a capacity of 200 seats and provides reception, accommodation, processing of asylum applications and assistance to asylum seekers and people with an application for a form of protection filed in the counties: Galati, Vrancea Bacau, Vaslui, Braila, Tulcea and Constanta.
