During the asylum procedure the asylum seeker has the right to stay in Romania and is protected against expulsion, extradition or forced return from the border or from the Romanian territory.
According to the law, the asylum application can be, depending on the situation, resolved in ordinary procedure or in accelerated procedure.

Ordinary procedure – the administrative stage

• Distribution of the application to the officer for resolution
• Interviewing of the asylum seeker
• Analyzing the reasons given by the asylum seeker based on data from the file and by relating them to information from the country of origin
• The decision / The motivated decision
• Notice of the decision
